September 17, 2024 – Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (SABECO) has started sending support to 6 provinces impacted by Typhoon Yagi through a collaboration with Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), local authorities, and its partners.
Under the relief program with the total value of more than 4.2 billion VND, SABECO and its partners have been sending essential goods and food supplies to residents in flood-stricken areas of Bắc Kạn, Cao Bằng, Lào Cai, Thái Nguyên, Tuyên Quang, and Yên Bái. Each province is estimated to receive support worth 650,560,000 VND. Additionally, 50,000,000 VND in financial aid was sent to frontline forces in each province to assist with post-disaster recovery efforts.
The essentials, including bottled water, food, and flashlights, were sourced from MM Mega and Chương Dương Company, and were distributed to beneficiaries by local authorities and provincial CYU members to ensure timely and effective delivery.
Prioritizing employees’ safety and business continuity
With 44 member companies in the same ecosystem and more than 12,000 employees, SABECO is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its employees, particularly at the subsidiaries and factories managed by Bia Sai Gon Dong Bac Trading Company and Bia Sai Gon Mien Bac Trading Company, which have been directly impacted by Typhoon Yagi. Since before Yagi’s landfall, The Board of Management of SABECO (BoM) alongside SABECO’ Labor Union and relevant Departments have been working closely together to:
- Ensure the safety of employees and their families.
- Evaluate the condition of our facilities and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services.
- Continue to supply products to businesses eager to rebuild.
SABECO’s employees have also demonstrated their solidarity by joining the SABECO Trade Union's donation drive to further support employees in affected areas.
