SABECO JOINS PRO VIETNAM, REAFFIRMING COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Joint Stock Company (SABECO) has just joined the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam), continuing to promote the company's sustainable development goals and contributing to the country's green growth objectives.

On August 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, along with 7 other companies, SABECO officially became the newest member of the PRO Vietnam. The new member companies joining PRO Vietnam are all leading businesses in the consumer goods, import, and recycling sectors, such as the Vinasoy, CP Vietnam, and Pramac Corporation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Larry Lee Chio Lim, Deputy General Director of SABECO, shared that by participating in PRO Vietnam, SABECO focuses on complying with and strengthening the implementation of the extended producer responsibility (EPR) at SABECO. At the same time, it actively advocates for effective and practical EPR policy regulations in Vietnam.

With a network comprising 26 breweries, 11 trading companies, and hundreds of thousands of retail points nationwide, SABECO understands the role and impact it can create. For this reason, SABECO strongly commits to aligning its business activities with sustainable principles, the SABECO representative stated.

For many years, SABECO's sustainable development strategy has focused on four pillars: Country - Culture - Conservation - Consumption. Accordingly, the company is committed to contributing to the sustainable development of the country and promoting the values of Vietnamese traditional culture; conducting business and production under the principles of environmental conservation and protection; encouraging consumers to drink responsibly; and ensuring sustainable development while preserving valuable resources.

According to the SABECO representative, as one of the leading businesses in Vietnam, SABECO recognizes its role and responsibility in promoting socio-economic development, not only by contributing to the budget, creating benefits for the company, shareholders, partners, and employees, but also ensuring sustainable development, production, green growth, and protection of important resources.

With the addition of these 8 new members, PRO Vietnam now has a total of 30 members, three times the number of members when it was established in 2019.

At the event, Mr. Jahanzeb Khan, Vice President of PRO Vietnam, shared PRO Vietnam is very pleased to welcome new members to the organization. This event not only marks the beginning of a journey of cooperation, innovation, and mutual development but also creates opportunities for businesses to propose more sustainable and effective initiatives in managing and recycling packaging, promoting a circular economy in Vietnam.
