HO CHI MINH CITY, 25nd MARCH 2019, Saigon Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Corporation (“SABECO”), Vietnam’s biggest brewer and
the maker of Bia Saigon and 333, marks an important milestone as it received one of the top honors at The International
Brewing Awards 2019.
SABECO bested a large number of candidates from countries around the world to win the gold medal for the International
Smallpack Lager Competition, Class 1 (Lager 2.9% ‐ 4.4% ABV) category. SABECO is the first wining brewery from Vietnam
that has gained this prestigious award, elevating Vietnam’s pride and reputation in the brewing industry.
The International Brewing Awards (IBAs) was established in 1888 and is said to be the world’s oldest international
brewing competition. Throughout the years, it has celebrated and promoted the highest standards of quality and
excellence in brewing beers and ciders. With a professional tasting panel comprised of experienced brewers and cider
makers evaluating the candidates for quality as well as commercial viability, winning such a coveted and highly
competitive award is certainly a prestige for any brewery.

About the International Brewing Awards (IBAs)
Organized since 1888, the International Brewing Awards (IBAs) have become the oldest and most genuinely international
beer competition. Not only does this competition open for beer, but it also features a category for cinder. It has been
structured into nine beer categories with 34 classes and one cider category with 11 classes. According to that, brewing
products are classified based on their Alcohol by volume (ABV). There are Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals which are
awarded for each class.
